Why is the XtraBase version shown for each video?
|
Some of the features shown may not be available if you have an earlier version of XtraBase - please make sure you are updated to the latest release.
If you see more than one version mentioned then there is likely an addendum at the end of the video covering late breaking changes.

Why is there a YouTube link for Videos & Playlists?
|
By viewing videos in YouTube you can take advantage of the full ability to speed up or slow down the video.
YouTube also provides sub-titles which can be translated into many languages.

How do we update XtraBase?
|
As of version 6.3 each application in XtraBase Suite has an update option in the Help menu. The applications will also automatically check for updates every 2 weeks when you start them.
Prior versions will need to be updated by us and we will contact you to arrange a suitable date.

I have a Macbook - can I run XtraBase?
|
XtraBase is a Windows application and will not run directly on MacOS. If your Macbook is Intel based then you can dual boot it with Windows.
You can install Parallels on most versions of MacOS which will let you run Windows in a virtual machine inside MacOS.
vmware Fusion is also an option.

How do you achieve remote access?
|
We use RustDesk which is an open source equivalent to TeamViewer. See rustdesk.com for information.
You can download our version at RustDesk.XtraBase.co.uk
NOTE: You can run RustDesk without installation, after the program is closed all remote connections are closed.

How is my data stored?
|
We use Microsoft SQL Server for data storage

Is my data secure?
|
All personal/identifiable data is encrypted using an SSL Certificate that is unique to your installation.
You are given a copy of the SSL certificate at the time of installation, which you should keep safely.

Where is the data stored?
|
You have a number of options which we will discuss with you during the consultation process, but it will be one of the following:-
- On a PC or Server at your premises
- On a Virtual Private Server that you rent and make available to us for installation.
- On a Virtual Private Server that we administer for you (subject to an additional charge)

Can we use XtraBase from multiple locations or on the road?
|
Sure! Even if your data is on premises remote access can be easily set up.
|

Setting up the program(s) seems complicated - can we do it ourselves?
|
Sure! We can provide the setup files and documentation but, for the sake of security, we won't publish them here - Get in touch and we'll give you all you need.
Note: You will need some PC Administrator experience.
